Welcome to The Arts Society Stourbridge website

Whether you are one of our 300-plus members or a visitor, we hope you will find this site interesting, informative and easy to use. We are one of 360 societies throughout the UK and Europe affiliated to The Arts Society.

Our objective, through inspiring lectures, visits, study days and heritage projects, is to broaden our knowledge and enjoyment of the arts, with like-minded, friendly people.

Our lecturers are chosen for their knowledge, presentational skills and entertainment value. They speak on a wide variety of topics: architecture, artists and designers, china, glass, furniture, jewellery, music, painting - and much, much more, covering everything from ancient history to modern times.

We meet in Stourbridge Town Hall at 10.55 am on Thursdays, once a month except for July and August. Before the lecture you can chat with members over a (free !) cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit.

Our visits include country houses, exhibitions, gardens and places of interest. For those who enjoy hearing about a subject in greater depth, we have Special Interest Days which enables the topic to be presented in more detail. There is a lunch provided on these days.

Members can get involved in local arts and heritage via Young Arts, Heritage and Church Recording projects.

If you would like to know more about us, or for any other enquiry, please click on 'Contact Us' on the menu bar, above.

With regret, the Committee has agreed that, in the light of the current situation, our APRIL, MAY and JUNE LECTURES must be CANCELLED.

We have now been notified that, in any case, Stourbridge Town Hall will be CLOSED until the end of June.

OTHER EVENTS (trips, etc) between March and June are either cancelled or under review
